Q & A

QUESTION: WHY ARE BAD THINGS HAPPENING TO ME?

Answer: Romans 3:23 lets us know that we have all fallen short of the glory of God. So, at some point in our lives, bad things will happen to us. Even the apostle Paul said in Ephesians 6:12 that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We are in a battle with other beings that we do not see with our physical eyes, yet it is manifested in our daily lives whether it be through sicknesses, accidents, hateful thoughts, negative emotions, etc. These illnesses of society are caused by the unseen spiritual realm. To win the battle against the bad things that are happening, we must first acknowledge that there is a God, that God loves us, and that he wants to unite us with his peace again. When we begin to show our love for one another, then we are showing our love towards God. And as we turn away from any wrong ways and embrace His goodness, we will begin to see the bad being removed from our lives. While we may not be able to control the evil actions and words that others may say to us or within our atmosphere, God wants each individual to begin within one's heart. And so through the apostle Paul, he lets us know these important things to winning the battle found in Philippians 4:8.

Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

This is what we must do in order to once again begin to experience the glory of God.
